Supersonic Visits Meryl Pataky.

In anticipation of the gifted neon sculptress Meryl Pataky’s forthcoming solo show at Shooting Gallery SF’s Project Room, “The Golden Hour,” Supersonic had photographer Brock Brake visit her studio space in San Francisco to get a few behind the scenes photographs of her hard at work.  The focus of the show is related to the cosmos and it’s formation with different works focusing on different elements.  Several works are devoted to the gases used inside the neon sculptures, their resulting color and what seems to be their naturalistic aura.  Take a look Meryl’s awesome studio space and her working on the beautiful sculptures below:

Supersonic Visits and Interviews Celeste Byers & Aaron Glasson.

Recently Tre’ Packard of PangeaSeed sat down with Celeste Byers and Aaron Glasson at their San Diego home to discuss their love of the natural world, how it inspires their art and various topics that make them the creative individuals they are.  As truly inspired artists these two have the gift of creating with purpose, their work directly devoted to what they hold dear.

In the interview Celeste and Aaron talk passionately about PangeaSeed’s “Sea Walls Expeditions" - the latest of which is looking for crowd funding help to make it possible.  You can check out the Indiegogo Page for the project - which involves thirteen world renown street artists traveling to Isla Mujeres to swim with Manta Rays and Whale Sharks and then create murals around the city to help bring awareness to these endangered species.

Read the interview below and take a look at all the lovely photos of their studio and garden:

Supersonic Visits Sean Newport.

(Photographs by Shaun Roberts on Tumblr)

The sculptures of San Francisco based artist Sean Newport are hallucinatory, fluorescent works of visual ecstasy.  Sean’s signature pyramid and diagonal pattern laced sculptures morph, change color and warp the sense of perception of any passer-by lucky enough to collect the colorful, stimulating work in their visual cortex.  The after-effect is often one of pure delight and a “how did he do it" sense of curiosity can purloin your thoughts for days afterwards.  The kind-hearted and intelligent Newport let photographer Shaun Roberts check out his studio and workshop:

Supersonic Visits: Rachel Suggs.

Artist Rachel Suggs illustrates lovely fantasies with great intricacy and ability.  Recently Supersonic got the chance to visit her studio in Baltimore where she is attending the Maryland Institute College of Art working on her BFA in illustration.  Her work, however, is a testament to the fact that illustration can also be fine art.  See more of Rachel’s studio below:
